Fare Structure

FARE STRUCTURE EXPLAINED

The detailed explanation of each field of Fare:

1. Base Fare: It is the Fixed Fare which is charged for the ride. (X)

2. Minimum Fare: It is the minimum fare that will be charged for the ride. (Y)

3. Threshold Distance : It is the distance after which you can charge differently from the Customers. For example, After x km from the start of the ride you can set the fare to $8 per km. (TD1)

4. Fare per km after threshold 1: It is the Fare which will be charged per km after the first threshold distance. (FT1)

5. Threshold Distance 2: It is the second checkpoint distance from the start of the ride, after which you can charge differently from the Customers. (TD2)

6. Fare per km after threshold 2: It is the Fare which will be charged per km after the second threshold distance. (FT2)

7. Threshold Time(in minutes): The maximum time within which the ride needs to be completed to avoid any extra costs. After this time the Fare Per Minute charge will start to apply. (TT)

8. Fare per Minute: It is the fare which can be charged per min from the customer after the Threshold Time has crossed. (FPM)

9. Threshold Waiting Time(in Minutes): It is the waiting time upto which the waiting charges won’t apply. After that timeframe, waiting charges will start to apply. (TWT)

10. Fare per Waiting Minute: It is the waiting charge per minute which is to be paid by the customer after the Threshold Waiting Time has passed. (TWF)

11. Cancellation Charges: The charges which the customer has to pay if he/she cancels the ride after booking, in case the Cancel Threshold Distance and Cancel Threshold Time don’t apply or is somehow breached.

12. Tax Percentage: The percentage tax on the entire fare which will be added to get the total fare.(T)

13. Cancel Threshold Distance: The minimum distance travelled by driver after which if the customer cancels the ride, cancellation charges will apply.

14. Cancel Threshold Time: The fixed time from booking the ride after which if the customer cancels the ride the cancellation charges will apply.

15. Pickup Threshold Distance: The distance after which you can charge differently from the customers, for pickup. For example, upto x km of pickup distance the charge will be $0.1 per km and after x km of pickup distance you can increase the charge to $0.2 per km. (PTD)

16. Pickup Charge before Threshold: The cost which the customer has to pay before the Pickup Threshold Distance. (PTC1)

17. Pickup charge after threshold: The cost which the customer has to pay after the Pickup Threshold Distance. (PTC2)

The minimum fare(Y) is a check to ensure any misuse. So that the driver will get correctly paid if the ride distance is too small and the total fare is very less.

Suppose the customer books a ride and a driver accepts the ride request. The driver is 5km away from the customer. The TWT is set to 2 minutes. The client boards the vehicle after 5 minutes of driver’s arrival. The total distance of the ride is 25kms. The TT is set to be 50 minutes and the ride is completed in 55 minutes then the total fare will be:

Total Fare = ((PTD*PTC1) + ((5-PTD)*PTC2) + ((5-TWT)*TWF) + X + ((TD2-TD1)*FT1) + ((25-TD2)*FT2) + ((55-TT)*FPM)) + T

1. Convenience Customer Waiver: The waiver which a customer gets on the convenience charge or this value waives off that amount from the final fare of the Customers.

2. Convenience Driver Cut: This value cuts an additional fixed charge from the Drivers Fare.

3. Commission(%): The percentage commission, which the admin charges, of the ride total.

4. Fixed Commission: The fixed amount of commission which the admin charges from the ride total.

5. Convenience Charge: This is a fare breakdown that allows the business owner to charge for the premium service he/she provides for this particular vehicle type. It may be set to zero for some and a suitable amount for the others, say, Luxury Sedan/SUV. In other words, this value adds an additional fixed charge to the Customers Fare.

6. Cancel subsidy : If the customer cancels a ride certain amount of money can be given to client as subsidy.

7. Cancel subsidy threshold time: minimum time after which cancel threshold will be provided to driver

8. cancel subsidy threshold distance: Minimum distance after which subsidy will be given to the driver

(Both the parameters will start after the driver accepts the ride and start to pickup location)
